Spirit of Philadelphia Formal Dinner Cruise
 UNS Social Chairperson,
Jennifer Janniello, is
organizing a 3 hour formal dinner cruise on the
Spirit
of Philadelphia. This event sponsored by UNS is open to all Villanova
students and will take place on Thursday, April 19th 2007. The ship will board
at 6:30 pm for a fun-filled evening of dinner and dancing from 7:00- 10:00 pm.
Ticket
price ($65.00) includes dinner, cruise, and bus rides to and from the event from
Pike Lot. Wildcard or cash will be accepted. Sale times & locations will be
posted on this website.

UNS
& Red Cross Blood Drive
Villanova’s College of Nursing Blood Drive took place on
September 28, 2006 in the Sheehan Hall Lounge. We received a total of 54
donations, which means 162 lives were saved!
 Congratulations and thank you to our Blood Drive Chairperson, Eileen Condon, for
organizing
this event and making it such a success!!!
We would love to meet our goal again, so watch for upcoming information on our
next blood drive in the Spring of 2007! Further details will be posted on this
website in the following weeks – please keep checking.
We are always looking for blood drive volunteers as well as donors! You
may sign up at the monthly UNS meetings or email
Eileen Condon for more
details.
Since September
of 2002, UNS has held 9 blood drives and has raised a total of 441 donations
to the Red Cross. Please volunteer to become part of this valued Villanova
tradition.
 Nursing Career Day
Congratulations to Career Day Chairperson, Alison Reilly,
for her success with UNS involvement at Career Day 2006! The forum took place on
Tuesday, December 5th from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm in the Connelly Center. UNS
volunteers helped to host this forum of 4 speakers and 57 health systems &
hospitals from all over the country.
Subaru of America Mid-Atlantic Region representatives were on hand at Nursing
Career Day to
showcase the Subaru of America VIP New Vehicle Purchase Program. This program
includes
eligibility to purchase or lease a new Subaru vehicle at Subaru dealer invoice
cost to all
members of the Villanova University College of Nursing. For more information,

A total of 187 students attended Career Day (105 seniors, 59 juniors, 15
sophomores, 6
freshmen, and 2 alumni). The tentative date for next year’s Career Day is
scheduled for December 4th.
UNS Fundraising
Congratulations to Fundraising Chairperson, Elizabeth Rath,
with the Sweatshirt /Sweatpant Sale!
Items include
hooded sweatshirts, sweatpants, or crew neck sweatshirts. These items are on
display in the cases across from the LRC on the ground floor of the College of
Nursing. Some sweat orders were placed before Thanksgiving and they were
delivered on December 18th in the College of Nursing main office. Those who
placed sweat orders after Thanksgiving will be contacted about a pickup date
shortly after returning from winter break. Email
