calendar for April 6! The 60th Anniversary
conference
“Partners in advancing
global health: educating the next generation”
includes two dynamic and thought-provoking keynoters: Dr. Louis
Hugo Francescutti, Professor, Department of Public
Health Sciences, University of Alberta, and President of
the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada;
and Dr. Naeema Al-Gasseer, World Health Organization
Representative for Egypt.

be part of Reunion 2013 (June 6-9)! Note there will be
special events in recognition of the 10 year anniversary
of our second degree accelerated program on Saturday,
June 8. We hope to see all of our "BSNExpress" graduates

housing registration is live!
New graduate employment
There was an 85% response rate among Class of 2012
graduates for a Career Services job placement survey.
Results indicated that of those who responded, 94% are
employed full time with an average salary of $52,630.
Congratulations to our new alumni as well as faculty and
staff!

Promoting health in people with intellectual
disabilities
Individuals with intellectual and developmental
disabilities face health care disparities and
inequities in four areas: access, knowledge,
communication and quality. In collaboration with
local community organizations and Dr. Suzanne
Zamerowski, students promote health and gain
appreciation of the imperative for nursing
advocacy for this population.

Cross-pollinating
nursing and business
Dr. Tim Monahan, the John M. Cooney Endowed
Professor of Accounting and Information Systems
at the Villanova School of Business and a member
of the College’s Board of Consultors, encourages
the two schools to work closely together on
questions that are driving public policy today.
Addressing health and business and the
intersection of the two, these questions include
everything from how to provide the most
effective care at the best price to how to
nurture cost-savvy technological innovation in
healthcare.

From its early days of applying adhesive tape
numbers and hunting for a court, women’s
basketball at Villanova has grown to a
nationally recognized program. Its roots can be
traced to a young nursing student with a love of
the game.

Call for abstracts
The College of Nursing and the Council on
Graduate Education for Administration in Nursing
(CGEAN) will co-provide November’s International
Nursing Administration Research Conference in
Baltimore. It serves as a prominent vehicle for
U.S. and Canadian nursing educators, executives,
administrators, clinical leaders and researchers
to strengthen their roles. Deadline is April
1st.
